International Cooperation

The Brønnøysund Register Centre is specialized in the field of administering registers, an expertise highly sought after abroad. Representatives from many countries have come to Brønnøysund to look at our guidelines, organization and the technical solutions we have created over the years. Employees at the Brønnøysund Register Centre have on several occasions been commissioned abroad to help establish new registers and register-systems.

The Brønnøysund Register Centre has cooperated with the English Companies House on routines connected with the administration of the Register of Company Accounts and late-submission fees, while different technical solutions have aroused interest both in Denmark and Sweden. The Brønnøysund Register Centre was also commissioned by Zambia when they transferred register operations to computers.

Employees at the Brønnøysund Register Centre have participated in the establishment of registers both in Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Macedonia. Two representatives from the Brønnøysund Register Centre were in Poland in 1994 to help plan a business- and mortgaged movable property register. Later, representatives from the Brønnøysund Register Centre have helped establish a mortgage register and given advice during the planning stages of a business register in Lithuania, helped plan a central register in Latvia and, most recently, register systems advice for the entity- and accounting registers in Macedonia.
