Accessibility statements
Last updated: 1 February 2024.
We have made accessibility statements for various services on brreg.no and in other channels.
For us, universal design is about everyone’s right to participate and reduce digital exclusion. Our services must be accessible to everyone, regardless of age, functional ability, or education.
Our websites have several technical solutions that, to varying degrees, meet the requirements of universal design. Some of the services were created before the existence of technical requirements, such as WCAG requirements, and are difficult to adapt and improve.
Since there are various degrees of compliance with WCAG requirements, we have chosen to make multiple accessibility statements for the services on brreg.no.
The statement covers the information pages on brreg.no and a variety of other services, such as:
- My hunting profile
- Check a disqualification
- My page for individuals
- Opting out of telephone sales and direct advertising
- Information on organisations
- Web shop
- Announcements
- Find alternative therapists
The service consists of four services where you can search for officially registered marriage settlements, liens, and other legal rights on businesses, motor vehicles, or individuals.
We focus on usability and universal design by
- testing our services often, both manually and by machines
- achieving WCAG requirements at level AA, and striving for levels AAA and future requirements from WCAG 2.2 and 3.0
- continuously improving content to be correct, understandable, and compliant with The Language Act
- collaborating with other agencies to solve user experiences in ways that are recognisable across public services
- using and contributing to designsystemet.no
Our usability policy
Usability is about the extent to which a product or system can be used by different users to achieve their goals in a specific context. Users should experience the best possible efficiency, effectiveness, and satisfaction.
- We involve users when designing and developing new services
- User group needs should be identified before we develop new services
- Our concepts and services are tested by user along the way and before they are implemented
- Users should feel that our services are tailored to them and their situation
- Our services should be organised and easy to use
- We use various methodologies to get to know our users better
- The users should achieve what they want in the simplest way possible
- We will ensure that users are confident they have understood and done their task correctly
- We use systematic methods and knowledge about users to develop better services
- We simplify based on data and input from employees who have been in contact with users
- We measure whether improvements have had the desired effect
- Our texts should follow the language guidelines so that the users find, understand, and achieve
- We use our knowledge of the users to tailor texts to the target group
- We shall communicate consistently in all channels, with terms that are easy to understand and make sense to the users
- All our services are adapted for as many people as possible to use them, regardless of abilities.
- We meet the legal requirements for universal design and best practices for user experience
- We test that services work and are accessible
