How to report affiliations to the Register of Non-Profit Organisations
Last updated: 2 May 2025.
Only the central level of non-profit organisations with multiple regional and/or local branches must report affiliations to the Register of Non-Profit Organisations.
General requirements
- When you report affiliations between organisations, all involved organisations must have an organisation number and be registered in the Register of Non-Profit Organisations. You can find information about which organisations are registered in the Register of Non-Profit Organisations through our search service Information on organisations.
- The registration of affiliations between organisations must be submitted in a spreadsheet (Open Document Format ODF or Excel format)
-
- The filename must be the organisation number of the central organisation, followed by the year, month, and date.
- For example: 980123456_20250530.xls. Use the date when you submit the file to the Register of Non-Profit Organisations.
- The spreadsheet must contain organisation number in: columns A, B and D. It is optional to enter a name for the regional and local organisations in the columns C and E.
- Do not enter spaces in the organisation numbers (only nine digits without spaces).
-
Column A: Organisation number of the central organisation
- Nine-digit organisation number – the field cannot be left blank.
-
Column B: Organisation number of the regional organisation
- Nine-digit organisation number – an empty field is allowed if no regional organisation exists.
-
Column C: Name of the regional organisation (optional)
-
Column D: Organisation number of the local organisation
- Nine-digit organisation number – the field cannot be left blank.
-
Column E: Name of the local organisation (optional)
- The filename must be the organisation number of the central organisation, followed by the year, month, and date.
There must always be one central organisation and at least one local organisation in the group. Each row represents one affiliation.
- Each row in the table must always include the organisation number of the central organisation and the local organisation, as well as the organisation number of the regional organisation if a regional organisation exists.
- A local organisation can be directly linked to a central organisation (if no regional organisation exists).
- The same organisation (organisation number) cannot exist at different levels.
- A regional organisation cannot be affiliated with two different central organisations.
- A local organisation can only be listed once.
Each submission must include a complete report of all affiliations. This implies that the central organisation must always have one updated file containing all affiliations (both previously registered and new ones). The entire file must be uploaded when submitting an affiliation report.
