Language in registration documents
Last updated: 2 January 2026.
The general rule is that all documents must be written in Norwegian, Sami languages, Kven, Romani or Romanes.
If the documentation is not in Norwegian, you must state:
- which parts of the documentation that documents the information being reported, and
- which language the documentation is written in
If the documentation is written in Romani or Romanes, you must also include:
- a Norwegian translation of the parts of the documentation that documents the information being reported
Minutes that document the election of a board, auditor, assignment of signature rights and similar matters may be written in English, Swedish, or Danish.
If there is any doubt about how the content should be understood, we may request that the document is translated into Norwegian.
