Sold annual accounts 1999–2003
The demand for annual accounts increased substantially in
2003 (30.7 per cent) after having remained quite stable in
recent years. The reason was that from the middle of November
2002 it was possible to download annual accounts from the
Internet. In 2003 we saw the impact of this option, and an
entire year of operations is included in the statistics. This
led to a steep decline in manual deliveries by fax, mail and
the Brønnøysund fax.
Since 2000 our distributors have also been able to deliver
annual accounts, and the number delivered by them has increased
each year. However, in 2003 distributor deliveries declined,
the reason for this probably being that option of direct delivery
via the Internet from the Brønnøysund Register
Centre. The Register of Company Accounts has stored a total
of 1.4 million annual accounts from Norwegian companies from
the last 10 years. All these annual accounts are in the public
domain. By making access to annual accounts easier, we will
probably increase the number of annual accounts sold in the
coming years.
